Update: Flood Warning for Bosham and West Itchenor and Flood Alerts for Selsey, Bracklesham and Thorney Island

The Environment Agency has announced new Flood Warnings for Bosham and West Itchenor and Flood Alerts for Selsey , Elmer, Bracklesham and Thorney Island at high tide 12.45 today (Thursday 4 January).

This message is being issued for the high tide on Thursday 4 January at 12:45, when strong winds and large waves shall return but are expected to be less stormy than yesterday. Tide levels are expected to only 10cm higher than Wednesday so similar impacts are expected.

A Flood Warning is in force for Bosham and West Itchenor, including Chidham, Broadbridge, and Bosham Hoe. Flooding will affect Shore Road as well as a number of properties on Bosham High Street and along Gloucester Terrace. All flood boards should be installed. A Flood Alert is in force for Selsey Bill to Elmer. Flooding is possible for coastal areas between Selsey Bill and Elmer, including Pagham, Sidlesham and Bognor. A Flood Alert is in force for Thorney Island to Bracklesham. Flooding is possible for coastal areas between Thorney Island and Bracklesham, including Bosham, West Itchenor and West Wittering. Water will flood Shore Road and minor flooding impacts are expected on Bosham High Street at high tide.
