Part of this information gathering will include a retail study that will involve asking residents about their shopping and leisure preferences.

A telephone survey will be conducted by NEMS Market Research starting on Monday 15 January, and taking place over the following three weeks.

The survey will around seven and half minutes to complete.

Most approaches will be made outside normal working hours in order to make sure that working households can take part.

We want to reassure residents that this isn't a scam and that the survey is being carried out lawfully.

The market researchers are aiming to speak to around 700 residents in the district, and also just outside our border to gain the views of people who may visit Chichester. The information provided will help give us a better understanding of how and where people like to shop and spend their leisure time.

All information gained from the questions will remain confidential. Information from the survey will be handled according to the eight Data Protection principles of good information handling practice, as required by the Data Protection Register.

If you receive a call you are under no obligation to take part. If you do decide to take part then your responses will be very much appreciated.

If you would like to know more about the retail study please contact our Planning Policy team for details.
