In light of the ever changing circumstances in relation to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic, at this time there continues to be alterations to the way some of our services are delivered.

Enforcement

  • Enforcement continues as normal at this time.
  • CEOs have a key highway safety role. Their duties include keeping road networks clear for our emergency services, enforcing yellow lines/loading bays and disabled bays so that particular vehicles can still access the places they need to go and do not have to contend with dangerously parked vehicles or inconsiderate parking.
  • CEOs continue to respond to reports of inconsiderate or unsafe parking. Please report a vehicle.

Cashless pay & stay using MiPermit

  • Customers using MiPermit to pay for parking will get one hour's free parking when purchasing two hours. Download the App now to make parking even easier.

  • Season tickets are also available to purchase for many of our car parks on MiPermit.

Car park season tickets

  • Parking charges operate in Chichester District Council car parks
  • Season tickets are available to purchase for many of our car parks.
  • Make sure you choose the correct start date when buying your new season ticket.
  • If your ADC season ticket has expired, please visit our season ticket webpage to buy a new one. The paper season ticket will be sent to you by post and will replace the old season ticket. Please remember to display it when parking your vehicle.
  • If you cancelled your season ticket as you did not require parking and would like to buy another one, please visit MiPermit and log into your account to 'Buy Digital Permits'.
  • Refunds can be issued for all remaining full months. If you use a MiPermit season ticket, please contact them so they can help you. If you have a paper season ticket, please return it with a completed refund form which is available on our season ticket webpage so that this can be reviewed.
  • NHS and Social Care staff who are on official duty are able to park in Northgate car park using a MiPermit season ticket which is available from https://www.mipermit.com/kwpermits.aspx
  • Although there is an offer on MiPermit for purchasing 2 hours parking, season tickets are already significantly discounted, so they will remain at the same cost.

Off street parking

  • The council will continue to offer free car parking (With a Season Ticket) for employees at St Richards Hospital in Northgate car park, Chichester.These are available on MiPermit

NHS government parking pass

  • The government has made available a parking pass for NHS staff members, health or social care workers, or NHS Volunteer Responders carrying out official duties in relation to the COVID-19 emergency response.

Resident & student permits

  • Parking restrictions have continued to operate on street throughout the health crisis.
  • If you want to buy a permit, check that your property is in a Zone by visiting our resident permits webpage and view the document 'Lists of Roads and Streets'.
  • To renew your permit, please visit our resident permits webpage.
  • If you are currently unable to provide evidence to support a permit, please let us know so we can assist you by using the email address above.
  • It is still a requirement to display a permit when parking so if there's a reason why you can't, please let us know so we can assist you. 

Carer & healthcare permits

  • Parking restrictions have continued to operate throughout the health crisis.
  • If you are currently unable to provide evidence to support a permit, please let us know so we can assist you, you can email parkingservices@chichester.gov.uk.
  • It is still a requirement to display a permit when parking so if there's a reason why you can't, please let us know so we can assist you. 
  • We continue to provide permits at the normal charges. However, the government has made available a parking pass for NHS staff members, health or social care workers, or NHS Volunteer Responders carrying out official duties in relation to the COVID-19 emergency response. It is still necessary to display a valid permit if parking in a permit holder bay.

Visitor permits

  • You are able to buy Resident Visitor Permits by calling 01243 534500 (excluding Zone E Residents who can park in car parks). Please remember that we need to know you are a resident by checking proof of residency before payment is taken. Should council tax records provide this information, we will post the permits to you.

Resident dispensations

  • For residents who need to park on-street during self-isolation, have been furloughed or are now working from home that would not normally be working from home, a dispensation notice is available, until the 30/09/2020.
  • The dispensation costs £5 and is valid for 1 month. To buy a dispensation notice, please call us on 01243 534500
  • It is valid in any on-street bay, including pay and display bays and limited waiting bays, but not on yellow lines, taxi ranks, loading bays or disabled bays.
  • The dispensation notice covers Controlled Parking Zones (CPZs) and non-CPZ areas but not off-street car parks.
  • When calling, you will be asked for the following information (we may ask for additional information as we need to ensure parking is given to those most in need):
    • Full name
    • Email address
    • Contact phone number
    • Your vehicle registration mark

Non residents permits /traders permits

  • Parking restrictions have continued to operate on street throughout the health crisis.
  • Refunds can be issued for all remaining full months on permits. A refund form is available on the permit page of our website which can be completed and emailed to parkingservices@chichester.gov.uk. You will also need to send in the permit for us to consider the refund.
  • It is still a requirement to display a permit when parking so if there's a reason why you can't, please let us know so we can assist you.
