How to use MiPermit for a pay and stay

Each of our car parks has a 'Location Number' which identifies where you are parking. The location numbers are 6 digit codes which are stated on the charges boards within the car parks.

Ways to pay

To make parking your vehicle as easy as possible with MiPermit, you can pay for your parking by using:

MiPermit costs

  • 10p per transaction (added to parking charge), No top up fee when paying for extra time
  • 10p for a text reminder, when parking duration is due to expire. This is at your discretion (added to parking charge).

 

Digital season ticket help

From 4 July 2023, customers were gradually moved over to MiPermit. Paper permits are no longer issued. For more information about going digital, please visit our Digital Controlled Parking Zones page.

 

How to create a MiPermit account for on street permits

To register for a MiPermit account please visit MiPermit online (opens new window). To apply for a resident permit, you will need to supply your council tax account number.

 

Activating a Part Time X Roving Season Ticket stay

On your MiPermit account (opens new window):

  • Log into your account
  • Click on 'Activate Your Permit', and choose Chichester District Council
  • Select from the list 'Part Time Season Ticket'
  • Enter your vehicle registration
  • Choose when you want to activate your stay
  • Read the terms and conditions of your stay
  • Click 'Continue'
  • Double check your details are correct, then click 'Confirm'
  • Your stay is now active.

Any active stays will be listed below at the bottom of the page.

On your MiPermit App:

  • Log into your App
  • Tap on the menu button (3 horizontal lines)
  • Tap 'Permits'
  • Under 'X Roving Season Ticket (Part Time) Public,' tap on the large green '+' button.
  • Enter / choose your vehicle registration
  • Choose when you want to activate your stay
  • Tap 'Confirm' and double check your details are correct
  • Tap 'Activate'
  • Your stay is now active

Any active stays will be showing on the 'Permits' list.

 

Changing a vehicle registration mark (VRM) on a season ticket

On your MiPermit account (opens new window):

  • Log into your account
  • Click on 'Manage Digital Permits', and choose Chichester District Council
  • Select from the list 'Season Tickets'
  • Click on the 'Active' season ticket you want to change
  • Click on Edit Registration
  • Enter your vehicle registration
  • Click 'Save Details'
  • Your stay is now active.

On your MiPermit App:

  • Log into your App
  • Tap on the menu button (3 horizontal lines)
  • Tap 'Permits'
  • Under 'X Roving Season Ticket' tap on the blue 'Edit' Button
  • Enter / choose your vehicle registration
  • Tap 'Save' and double check your details are correct
  • Your registration is now active

Adding a new vehicle registration (VRM)

On your MiPermit account (opens new window):

  • Log into your account
  • Click on 'Buy Digital Permits', and choose Chichester District Council
  • Select from the list 'Permit Vehicle Registration Changes'
  • Read through the criteria information
  • Upload your new VRM proof - preferably the V5 document but we can accept motor insurance on the first occasion.
  • In the 'Notes' box, please state which VRM needs removing (if applicable) and the new VRM going onto the permit.
  • Fill in the rest of the details on the form
  • Click 'Finish'
  • Scroll down and click 'Finish'

This application will be sent to MiPermit to review. If accepted they will make alterations to your permit and you will receive email confirmation once it is active. If no email has been received, it has not been processed and alternative parking will need to be found.

On your MiPermit account (opens new window):

  • Log into your account
  • Click on 'Activate Your Permit', and choose Chichester District Council
  • Select from the list 'Visitor Permits'
  • Enter the vehicle registration
  • Choose the permit type you are activating
  • Choose when you want to activate your stay
  • Choose the duration 
  • Read the terms and conditions of your stay
  • Click 'Continue'
  • Double check your details are correct, then click 'Confirm'.
  • Your stay is now active.

By text - You can also use SMS to activate visitor permits if your account has your mobile phone number associated with it.

If you have visitor permits to use on your account, you can send an SMS (text message) to 61600 with the following (examples): VISITOR A123BCD 4hours

This will allow your visitor in vehicle A123BCD park in your zone for 4-hours. Note that durations will be dependent on your parking operator and permits you have access to. Some parking operator's visitor permits do not require a duration, please see your parking operators MiPermit portal information pages for details.

Phone MiPermit - You can call MiPermit on 0345 5207007. Please ensure you have your visitor's registration mark before calling.

Email MiPermit - You can email: help@mipermit.com Stating - your full name, address, what type of RVP you would like to activate, date and time of activation, your visitors VRM.

*Please note that if you email MiPermit it will not be updated immediately so the other options are preferable*

Alternatively you can have an 'authorised person' who can activate RVPs on your behalf such as trusted family member or friend. Please contact Parking Services with written confirmation of the persons details.

  • There are no permit replacement charges
  • Permit/Pay and Display tickets cant be lost, stolen or fall from view in the vehicle
  • Customers no longer need to make time to visit/contact the council because a permit can be managed online.
