Assistance amount payable and related issues
Funding is available for homeowners and landlords with an eligible tenant, to install energy efficient and low carbon measures. The maximum assistance available is £10,000 for homeowners living in on-gas areas, and up to £25,000 for those in off-gas areas.
Funding for landlords is at a rate of 50% of the cost of works up to a maximum of £5,000 for a property in an on-gas area, and £12,500 in an off-gas area. The landlord must fund the cost of any works that exceed the maximum level of assistance available.
Financial assistance will be approved once a minimum of two reasonable and competitive quotes have been received and accepted, along with details of any preliminary services and fees if applicable.
Please note the approval of assistance will not be issued until any necessary building regulation application, planning permission or listed building consent has been approved.
Financial assistance will only be paid once the works have been completed to a satisfactory standard and a suitable invoice has been received.
In certain circumstances the Council may make interim payments on satisfactory completion of a particular phase of the works and production of an acceptable invoice.
Note: the Council cannot guarantee funding until an application for financial assistance has been approved. If you choose to start works before receiving an approval please be mindful that funding may not be available.
