Discretionary Grant Fund Application

  1. Chichester District Council is aiming to support as many small businesses within the district as possible within the funding limits imposed by the Government via the Discretionary Grant Fund. Chichester District Councils scheme can be found at www.chichester.gov.uk/businessratesannouncements

  2. Before you start, you will need the following documents, if applicable, ready to upload in image, PDF, Word or Excel file format less than 10MB in size:

    • Market trading licence (if you are a market trader)
    • Evidence of trading on or before 11 March 2020 (stock orders, tax returns)
    • Evidence of your business (Companies House registration, Charities Commision Registration, HMRC documentation showing business name, Public liability insurance certificate etc.)
    • Evidence of signed lease/rental agreement/mortgage agreement/licence
    • Evidence of this years income for January to April, and last years income for the same period (this can be in the form of bank statements, tax returns, receipts etc.)
    • Sales information
    • Evidence of any ongoing fixed property costs
    • Business bank statements for the last three months for this year, and last year.

    Any additional documents can be uploaded at the end of the form.

  3. Businesses that have received cash grants from any central government COVID-related scheme are ineligible for funding from the Discretionary Grants Fund.

    Grant schemes include but are not limited to:

    • • Small business grant fund
    • • Retail, leisure or hospitality grant
    • • Fisheries response fund
    • • Domestic seafood supply scheme (DSSS)
    • • The Zoos support fund
    • • The dairy hardship fund
