Independent Retailers Grant Scheme

The Independent Retailers Grant scheme is now open to expressions of interest.

Chichester District Council has grant funding available to support independent retailers with a physical shop presence. The shop must be in the Chichester District and within one of the following high streets:

• Chichester,
• East Wittering,
• Midhurst,
• Petworth or
• Selsey

The grant is to help make improvements to their premises and/or retail operations.

Training workshops

The scheme is complemented by a programme of training workshops (opens new window). These workshops aim to help retail owners maximise the potential of their business. The training is offered at no additional cost to all independent retailers across the district.

Before making a full application, it is a requirement of the scheme that applicants have completed at least one training module.

Apply for funding

We are currently reviewing the expressions of interest received and the scheme is now closed to new enquiries. If there is sufficient funding remaining after this current round then we will open the scheme again to new expressions of interest.
