COVID 19 action List for Filming in Public Locations

The purpose of the Covid-19 Action List is to ensure location filming complies with government Covid-19 safety guidance and that filming activity does not increase the risk of spreading COVID-19 in the public domain.

This action list has been authored by Film London and adopted by Creative England and Film Office and Local Authority filming partners, providing parity for industry filming in Public Locations across England.

Filming and photography applications

The Chichester District is one of the most picturesque locations in the country. It has a unique combination of the South Downs, the historic city of Chichester, and the south coast, all within a short distance of each other.

We welcome film, television, and photographic companies who wish to film/photograph in and around the area. We are also able to provide help and assistance.

If your application is successful, we must be fully indemnified against any damages, actions, proceedings, claims, costs and expenses should any arise as a consequence of use of our land. All companies working on location in public places owned or managed by us must hold public liability insurance cover between five million pounds and ten million pounds. The exact figure will depend on the activities taking place and will be in respect of any one claim as a minimum.

As with all applications to use our land or buildings, a copy of the company's public liability insurance certificate will need to be sent to us for inspection. A risk assessment and method statement must also be submitted before consent will be granted.

If you wish to film in an area or building owned or managed by Chichester District Council, you will need to contact the Licensing Team who will provide you with details on costs.
