The period saw huge developments in science, technology, fashion, entertainment and the way we interact with each other. The exhibition will explore life before the internet and investigates the shared cultural experience of childhood in the 1980s. Visitors will find more than 200 items of memorabilia showcasing the youthful exuberance of the decade, from toys such as Care Bears, My Little Pony and Transformers, to album covers of timeless musicians like Queen, George Michael, Phil Collins and Kate Bush.

During the day a number of activities will take place in the build-up to the shows. Petworth House will be open for free from 10.30am until 3.30pm, while 11am - 3.30pm there will also be free drop-in crafts in The Battery House where children will be able to get creative, inspired by the laser show. In addition, there will also be live music in The Courtyard from local musicians, with performances running 3.30pm - 4.30pm.
There will also be a silent disco in the Battery House between 4pm and 5pm.
On both nights shows will take place at 6pm and 7.30pm - the first will be a modern Disney show with music and projections while the second show will be based around movie blockbusters.
Before the shows there will be the opportunity to enjoy food and drink from local vendors. These will be situated along Canal Wharf along with a children's carousel ride. There will also be an illuminated hoops performance and a roaming LED character to keep people entertained in the build up to the shows.
All meetings start at 7:30pm except January at 2:30pm in the Friends’ Meeting House, Priory Road, Chichester PO19 1NX. Meetings are expected to finish by 9pm (4pm in January).
Tea or coffee and biscuits are served from 7pm (2pm in January).
Admission to every meeting in the 2024-25 programme costs £20 (£30 for couples) and to individual meetings £5.
