Skin piercing, tattooing, acupuncture and body piercing registrations
All premises and individuals that wish to practice acupuncture, tattooing, ear piercing, cosmetic piercing, electrolysis or semi-permanent skin colouring must be registered with this authority.
There is a separate registration for the premises and for each individual that wishes to undertake any of the above practices.
Once we receive your application, an officer will contact you to carry out an inspection of any new premises and to discuss practices with new applicants. In preparation for this inspection please be familiar with the byelaws below and ensure that you comply with them. Please note, this Authority cannot refuse your application for registration however if at any point it finds that a business or applicant is not complying then further action will be considered. The current fees are:
- £200 for a premises registration
- £78 for personal registration
- £27.50 admin fee for amendments etc
